Parents understand the need for parental controls on Facebook, but many prefer a non-invasive solution. RedFlag is a new, non-invasive parental monitoring service designed for protecting kids on Facebook from risky "friends". Read more about this free Facebook parental control app. The following answers to frequently asked questions provide additional information and address concerns parents may have about using the service.
Let them know that just as you wouldn’t let them get into a car with a stranger or get into a situation where they could unknowingly get into trouble, you want to be sure they can enjoy Facebook social networking with their friends without strangers intruding and pretending to be something they are not. You can show them how RedFlag works and share with them any review of suspicious profiles. You may want to suggest a "trial" period where they allow you to monitor Facebook profiles so they can get used to it.
Not at all. RedFlag does not monitor conversations, email, chat or wall postings, so the kids will not feel like you as a parent are "spying" on their conversations. RedFlag is only concerned with identifying suspect characteristics in Facebook friend profiles and enabling you to stop access to your kids by these so-called "friends." Unlike some Facebook parental controls, RedFlag does not monitor what you kids are saying with their genuine friends.
